With regionals near, the JH boys basketball team is pumped up!  They have about 9 more games left.  The 8th grade team will be playing in the Conference Tournament at Breese Central on December 12th, 13th, and 16th.  Then, they will play teams like Nashville, Pinckneyville, Mascoutah, etc.  I asked Coach Barkau “How excited are you for regionals?” He replied “I am so ready for regionals! The 8th graders are making strides and are improving every day. I really want to surprise teams at regionals this year.”  

The 8th grade team players are Luke Bornemann, Harrison Borrenpohl, Dylan Clark, Garrett Green, Zaine Kirsch-Jackson, Jack Laughlin, Ashton McGranahan, Evan Miller, Ethan Riechmann, Tyson Thompson, Wilson Welch, and Cole Wiedwilt with managers Ryland Helbig and Kyle Schwab.  The 7th grade players are Joseph Jansen, Jared Juenger, Cameron Rohde, Landen Schmersahl, Hayden Shubert, Nathan Spidle, Trevor Gray, Hayden Hagarty, Andrew Savard, Grant Schleifer, Franklin Walthes, and Dusty Wilfong.  This year regionals are held here, at Okawville on January 24th.
