County Rivals Join to Play for a Cause

Kaleb Bowers

The boys basketball team has played well this year with a record of 11 wins and only 5 loses, blowing a couple of teams out of the water. In the Kaskaskian Classic Carlyle tournament, the boys got 2nd place, and in the Mater Dei Holiday tournament got 6th place. Two Freshman have made it to the varsity team this year, Tyler Parsley standing at 6’0”,  and Lucas Frederking, standing at 5’9”. Both Junior and Varsity played in Nashville on January 6th for a relay for life game, and overall $1,368.47 was raised for Relay for Life not including the shirts Nashville sold. Around $2,000 was raised solely through donations. They also honored every man woman and child, including our very own Kolby Bowers, in the gym who has fought and beat cancer. It was a heartwarming moment that I won’t soon forget.
