Keeping Traditions Alive

Cheerleaders uphold traditions by preparing for the annual cheer clinic.

With season and practices in full swing, the cheerleaders have their hands full managing the O.H.S tradition of keeping the spirit alive. The cheerleaders are responsible for cheering at every home and away junior varsity and varsity boys basketball game, but their responsibilities do not stop there. The cheerleaders are also responsible for running the upcoming cheer clinic on January 26th. The cheer clinic is an event where the cheerleaders teach young girls ages pre- k through 8th grade a dance, and sideline cheers. The cheerleaders will teach the girls the material the day before at the high school, and the material will be performed the following night during halftime of the junior varsity basketball game. The cheerleaders have spent the last couple of weeks perfecting coming up with the dances for this year’s clinic.
