OJSHS receives technology funding grant

Okawville‌ ‌Jr.‌ ‌Sr.‌ ‌High‌ ‌School‌ ‌has‌ ‌received‌ ‌funding‌ ‌to‌ ‌increase‌ ‌technology.‌ ‌These‌ 
funds‌ ‌can‌ ‌help‌ ‌the‌ ‌school‌ ‌to‌ ‌obtain‌ ‌Chromebooks‌ ‌for‌ ‌junior‌ ‌high‌ ‌students‌ ‌that‌ ‌can‌ ‌be‌ 
utilized‌ ‌in‌ ‌remote‌ ‌learning‌ ‌situations.‌ ‌Any‌ ‌leftover‌ ‌funds‌ ‌may‌ ‌be‌ ‌used‌ ‌throughout‌ ‌the‌ 
district.‌ ‌
Bayer’s‌ ‌Grow‌ ‌Rural‌ ‌Education‌ ‌program‌ ‌provided‌ ‌Okawville‌ ‌and‌ ‌9‌ ‌other‌ ‌schools‌ 
in‌ ‌Illinois‌ ‌funding‌ ‌to‌ ‌enhance‌ ‌STEM‌ ‌education.‌ ‌These‌ ‌grants‌ ‌are‌ ‌also‌ ‌provided‌ ‌in‌ ‌most‌ 
U.S‌. ‌states‌ ‌each‌ ‌year‌ ‌since‌ ‌2010.‌ ‌Local‌ ‌school‌ ‌districts‌ ‌can‌ ‌be‌ ‌nominated‌ ‌by‌ ‌farmers‌ ‌to‌ 
receive‌ ‌a‌ ‌grant.‌ ‌Mr.‌ ‌Berg‌ ‌along‌ ‌with‌ ‌the‌ ‌help‌ ‌of‌ ‌teachers‌ ‌and‌ ‌administration‌‌,Mr.‌ ‌Hostert,‌ Mr. Senior,‌ ‌and‌ ‌Mr‌. ‌Fuhrhop,‌ ‌applied‌ ‌for‌ ‌this‌ ‌grant‌ ‌in‌ ‌April‌ ‌of‌ ‌2020.‌ ‌In‌ ‌June‌ ‌the‌ ‌applications‌ ‌were‌ ‌narrowed‌ ‌down‌ ‌to‌ ‌about‌ ‌20-30‌ ‌finalists.‌ ‌Then‌ ‌in‌ ‌August‌ ‌the‌ ‌final‌ 
selections‌ ‌were‌ ‌made.‌ ‌The‌ ‌grant‌ ‌was‌ ‌approved‌ ‌for‌ ‌$15,000.‌
