The 2021 Subaru Share the Love Event
December 6, 2021
The 2021 Subaru Share the Love Event has donated more than $200 million over the last 13 years to various charities. This year, Washington County Senior Services is partnering with the Okawville High School National Honor Society and Student Council to collect boxes in the lobby of the high school from December 6 through December 17. Items can be donated during the high school basketball games (December 6, 7, 9, 11, 14, 17). When someone donates two or more items at a game, the donor will receive a free bag of popcorn.
One of the many recipients of The 2021 Subaru Share the Love Event is Meals on Wheels America. Meals on Wheels fights senior hunger and isolation by supporting 5,000+ community Meals on Wheels nationwide. Washington County Senior Services received over $3,600 from the Share the Love Event.
Okawville Grade School students will be creating festive artwork to add holiday cheer to the seniors’ meal delivery.
Student Council members Hannah Miller and Jordyn Heckert decorated and set up the “Giving Tree” placed in the lobby where items can be donated. This is an annual service opportunity Student Council partakes in. Also donating their time are NHS members Maci Wolf and Gracie Nelson to help with this great community event.
