Teacher Spotlight : Mr. Tebbe

Mr. Aaron Tebbe is a coach and a teacher here at Okawville Jr. Sr. High School. He is currently a P.E. teacher and a Geography teacher. He also coaches the Junior High Girls Basketball Team.

Mr. Tebbe started his education at St. Rose Grade School and went to high school at Mater Dei High School. He decided to further his education at Eastern Illinois College where he received a degree in History and Physical Education. He started his teaching career at the Waltonville Grade School. While he was there, he taught Junior High History. He also coached Junior High Boys Basketball. He then moved on and taught at Odin High School for 9 years as a history teacher. He also took on coaching the High School Boys Basketball Team and the High School Boys Baseball Team. He then left Odin High School to teach at Okawville High School.

This is his 18th year here at Okawville. Since he’s been here, he has coached High School JV Boys Basketball, Boys Golf, Junior High Softball, and Junior High Girls Basketball. He has also taught P.E., history, and a little bit of everything. When I interviewed him I asked what he likes about his job. He replied, “The kids, I love watching the kids develop into young adults. I also like my co-workers.”
