Rockets Compete in 14th Annual Duster Thomas Hoops Classic

Through December 27-29, the Okawville Rockets took part in the 14th Annual Duster Thomas Hoops Classic, hosted by Pinckneyville High School. On that Monday, the Rockets played a tough match against the strong and aggressive Murphysboro team and were defeated 60-27. 

The next day, the Rockets played an early 9 am game against Meridian High School. The Rockets fought hard and played a very intense game, but ended up coming short, 46-45. 

On the last day of the tournament, the Rockets faced off against the Shells of Roxanna. The game was a close one, but the Shells came out on top 42-40. Later in the day, the Rockets played for 15th place, against the Woodlawn Warriors. The Rockets came out strong and beat the Warriors, 49-36. Okawville placed 15th place out of 16 teams. The Rockets hope to do better in the regular season. 

The championship game was played between Richland County and Pinckneyville. Pinckneyville fell short, 48-42.
