Lady Netters Finish Third at DuQuoin

On September 3rd, the Lady Netters traveled to DuQuoin to play in an all-day tournament! They started out in the tournament strong when they played DuQuoin in their first game and beat them in two matches! They won the first match 25-17 and the second match 25-20. 

Jordyn Heckert led the team in kills, accounting for 11 out of the team’s 26 total. Megan Rennegarbe and Kylie Going totaled the team’s aces, Rennegarbe contributing 2 and Going contributing 1. Camy Wiedwilt, Megan Rennegarbe, Maci Wolf, and Jordyn Heckert each had a solo block to total the team’s 4. Madi Wienstroer led the team in digs, accounting for 11 of the team’s 42. Kylie Going led the team in assists, contributing 16 of the team’s 24. Megan Rennegarble led the team in serve receives, contributing 12 of the team’s 29. 

The girls played their second game against Christopher, in which they lost in two tough matches. They lost the first match 25-23 and the second match 25-19. Maci Wolf led the team in kills, contributing 4 of the team’s 14 total. Megan Rennegarbe led the team in aces accounting for 2 of the team’s 4. Maci Wolf and Rae Obermeier each had a block, totaling the team’s 2. Madi Wienstroer led the team in digs, contributing 9 of the team’s 33. Rae Obermeier led the team in assists, accounting for 6 of the team’s 11. Ady Harre, Megan Rennegarbe, and Madi Wienstroer led the team in serve receives. Harre received 12, and Rennegarbe and Wiesntroer both received 11 of the team’s 41 total.

Their third game was played against Sparta, who they beat in two matches. The girls won the first match 25-21 and the second match 25-20. Maci Wolf led the team in kills, accounting for 8 of the team’s 22 total. Kylie Going had an ace to lead the team that game. Jordyn Heckert had one solo block for the game. Megan Rennegarbe, Jordyn Heckert, and Ady Harre led the team in digs. Rennegarbe had 9, Heckert had 8, and Harre had 7 of the team’s 35 total. Kylie Going and Rae Obermeier led the team in assists. Going had 11 and Obermeier had 8 of the team’s 20 total. Madi Wienstroer and Megan Rennegarbe led the team in serve receives. Wienstroer tallied 13 and Rennegarbe tallied 11 of the team’s 33 total. 

The Lady Netter’s fourth game of the day was played against Murphysboro, where they lost in two very tough matches. They lost the first match 25-12 and the second 25-20. Maci Wolf led the team in kills again, contributing 9 of the team’s 16 total! Rae Obermeier accounted for the only ace of that game. Maci Wolf had a solo block for the game. Madi Wienstroer led the team in digs, contributing 8 of the team’s 28. Rae Obermeier led the team in assists, contributing 7 of the team’s 13. Madi Wienstroer and Megan Rennegarbe tallied an outstanding number of serve receives! Wienstroer contributed 22 and Rennegarbe contributed 18 of the team’s 60 total.

The fifth and final game of the tournament for the Lady Netters was played against the Herrin Tigers for third place. The girls won in three very exciting matches! They lost the first match 25-19, won the second match 25-22, and won the third match 16-14! Jordyn Heckert led the team in kills, contributing 11 of the team’s 35 total. Kylie Going led the team in aces, accounting for 2 of the team’s 4 total. Megan Rennegarbe and Camy Wiedwilt led the team in blocks. Rennegarbe had two solo blocks, and Wiedwilt had one solo and one assisted block. Rae Obermeier also contributed a solo block, which tallies the team’s 5 total. Madi Wienstroer led the team in digs, accounting for 16 of the team’s 49. Kylie Going and Rae Obermeier each had 11 assists, leading the team’s 25 total. Madi Weinstroer, Megan Rennegarbe, and Ady Harre each tallied an outstanding number of serve receives this game! Wienstroer had 27, Rennegarbe had 15, and Harre had 12 of the team’s 63 total!

The girls finished with yet another great tournament overall! They placed third in the tournament, and Maci Wolf and Jordyn Heckert were awarded All-Tournament Team! The team proved that they can most definitely play with bigger schools, and even break some records! Based on the last 5 years of stats recorded for the Lady Netters, 26 kills in two sets and 35 kills in 3 sets broke the record!
