This year at Okawville Grade School, there is a new 3rd-grade teacher, Mrs. Buzzard. Mrs. Buzzard and her husband, Mason, moved to Okawville this summer after getting married in June. Mrs. Buzzard was not from the Okawville area, but her dad graduated from Okawville. She graduated from Bunker Hill High School. Then, she attended Lewis and Clark Community College for her Associate’s Degree and received her bachelor’s from SIUE. Last year, she worked at Staunton Elementary as the 3rd-5th grade RTI teacher. Some of her hobbies include exercising and traveling with her husband.
When asked what she likes most about Okawville so far, she said, “I am enjoying having my own group of students and building relationships with them. Having worked in numerous districts through subbing and observations throughout college, I think Okawville provides a special opportunity to get to know students and families because of its smaller size.” Mrs. Buzzard will be a great fit for Okawville Grade School.
