Some of the members of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) at Okawville High School attended The FBLA conference at McKendree University. The conference was held on January 12th, and 6 students from OHS attended. President Bella Welch, Vice President Taylor Hettenhausen, Kayla Crouch, Maelynn Procasky, Carly Schmidt, and Hunter Kolweier.
This opportunity was open to the members of FBLA, and several other local schools were present at the conference. Carlyle High School, Central High School, O’Fallon Township High School, Mater Dei Catholic High School, and Belleville East High School were among some of the other high schools that competed.
There were several competitions that the students could participate in, such as accounting, broadcast journalism, e-business, marketing, personal finance, and several other categories. Okawville did not enroll to compete in any of the competitions. Taylor Hettenhausen, a senior and vice-president of FBLA, gave an oral presentation to the judges at the conference. This was a great opportunity for the students at OHS who were able to attend, and they will be sure to be back next year!
