The 2024 Okawville baseball team is starting back up. Beau Barkua is continuing his career as head coach of the team this year. Cameron Obermeier is the assistant coach. There are three seniors on the team and they include Riley Clark, Shane Klasing, and Parker Lehde. The Juniors on the team include Hayden Heintz, Aidan Anderson, John Schaller, Oliver Gaubatz, Grant Moody, and Clavin Maynard. The only sophomore this year is Braxton Renngrabe. Lastly, the freshmen include Kaden Buehler, Blake Carrico, Gunner Mallot, Clayton Maynard, and Braylen Turner.
I talked to one of the players on the baseball team. Freshman, Braylen Turner. He stated, “I am very optimistic for this year’s season and I believe that we will put in a lot of hard work.” The Rockets’ first game is Mar 14, 2024, against the Lebanon Greyhounds.
