The 2024 junior high volleyball season has come to an end. The 5th graders ended with 4 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie. The 6th graders had 13 wins and no losses. The 7th-grade teams had 12 wins and 6 losses. Finally, the 8th grade team had 12 wins and 8 losses. Thanks to all the coaches that helped the volleyball team strive. 7th and 8th volleyball coach, Debbie Frederking, said, ”Overall, the season went very well. Our goal is to be above .500 each season, and all the teams did just that. As for what needs work is everything: listening to the coaches, serving, receiving, digging, serving, setting, hitting, blocking, reacting faster to the ball, moving our feet to the ball, having more court awareness, having more confidence, and communicating to our teammates. We are always excited about each new season. More and more girls are trying out for volleyball clubs or attending skills camps. The effort made to improve during the off-season will only help the volleyball program. We attribute the success of the 6th-grade team going undefeated this year to the fact that some of them have been playing with a club team. They have gained the court experience they needed to be more competitive this year. We hope returning players continue to practice and play volleyball during the off-season.”
