Rockets Take on Solo+Ensemble

On March 19th, 60 students in the Okawville Band and Chorus performed at Solo Ensemble. They performed in front of judges and audiences with vocal and instrumental solos, duets, trios, and quartets. 4 students received Division 2 ratings, and 53 students earned Division 1 ratings. 4 junior high and grade school students received Division 1 superiors. 3 students in high school received perfect scores. In high school, Sarah Cook, Aiden Parker, Julia Helbig, and Jared Bollmeier received a perfect score on their trumpet quartet. Rodney Helbig got a Best of the Day and a perfect score on his baritone solo. Eva Tooley received a perfect score and Best of the Day on her flute solo. Katheryn Forgy received Best of the Day for her vocal solo. Sarah Cook got a Best of the Day on her trumpet solo. In junior high, Hutson Hudgens got a 1st Superior on his trumpet solo, Madeline Dulle got Best of the Day on her saxophone solo, Lucy Pille got Best of the Day on her vocal solo, and Ellie Simonton got a 1st Superior on her piano solo.
