On Wednesday 28, 2024 the junior high and high school launchpad and yearbook staff took a trip to SIU Carbondale to SISPA. We had 19 students from Okawville High School attend this event. Overall there were 230 students representing 12 schools. Okawville High School Timepeice won a Golden Dozen Award. Kenley Hackstadt won 3rd place for her Launchpad story, “No, Ifs, And, or Putts” for the headline. Laura Cook and Adysen Harre got 1st place on their homepage design for Launchpad. For the Jr. High yearbook, Lydia Waltrip won 1st place for “Running for a lay up” Feature Photo. Sheylle Salazar-Medina got 2nd place for Feature Photo, “Junior Rockets defend the hoop” for the Junior High yearbook. For Junior High Laundpad staff Ellie Simonton got 1st for Feature Writing, “Jazz ILMEA Chior Member” and Emmalyn Muniz got 2nd, “Jr.High Breaks in the Dance Floor”.
