The Okawville Rockets have wrapped up their season with an overall record of 2-19. Heading into regionals, the Rockets came off of a tough loss to Red Bud. The Rockets hosted the Musketeers on Friday, May 10, which was when the Senior Night ceremony was held. This year, four seniors were recognized: players Shane Klasing, Parker Lehde, Rylie Clark, and manager Bennett Krohne. We thank our seniors for all their hard work and dedication to this program. This game marked the end of the Rockets’ regular season. For their first game of regionals, the Rockets played against Odin at their home field for a play-in game. Aidan Anderson tallied 11 strikeouts in the outing. Also, Grant Moody hit a grand slam to make the Rockets’ lead more comfortable. The Rockets were able to secure the victory, 12-2. Their next regional game was played at the Marissa Regional against the Christ Our Rock Stallions. Both teams hit the ball very well, but the Stallions’ defense seemed to be rock solid. CORLHS took the victory, 4-2.
Although the season did not go exactly as planned, many lessons were learned in the process. The Rockets are already looking forward to next season!
