This year we have a new teacher joining our Okawville Rocket family. Ms. Gilley is a 22 year old teacher. She went to college at SIUE in Edwardsville, Illinois and this is her first year teaching by herself, but she did a lot of subbing at Collinsville and ran the Preschool for 3 years in Trenton at Willow Learning Center. One of her favorite things about teaching is interacting with the kids and getting to know them and seeing their progress throughout the years. Ms. Gilley is the youngest of 6 siblings, 2 biological sisters, 2 step brothers and 2 step sisters.
This summer she traveled all the way over to Mexico with 2 of her friends, and she did an excursion to Isla Mahairas. While she was there, she went to the hot sandy beaches of Mexico, and that was her second time out of the country.
She loves to eat chocolate, anything with potatoes, and she loves to snack on Doritos. Her favorite drink is Dr. Pepper. Her favorite sports teams are the Cardinals and the Blues, but the Blues are a little bit more action-packed in her opinion. Ms. Gilley’s favorite movie is Tangled; she loved to watch it when she was younger. In her spare time, she loves to create art. She played soccer and volleyball when she was in high school, and now she’s joined a sand volleyball team. She was also the Valedictorian at Wesclin High School when she graduated. Her favorite season is summer because she doesn’t like the cold, but she loves Christmas because she loves to see her family and friends. Texas Roadhouse is one of her favorite restaurants, but she likes a lot of other places too. She likes to shop at Target, order stuff at Amazon, and TJ Maxx or Ross for some good deals. If she could go anywhere in the world she would love to visit anywhere in Europe or Hawaii.
We are so excited for her to start this epic school year with our new teachers.
