The cross-country team ran at the Freeburg Invitational this Saturday. The weather caused the course to be challenging this meet. Even though some parts of the course were dry, the grassy parts were wet and muddy, causing two runners to slip. Even with the difficult conditions, the team did well. Overall, the top 50 runners received medals, and Okawville had four runners place. They were Ryker Obermeier placing 45th, Katelyn Gogolek placing 42nd, Sidney Charles placing 38th, and Caroline Tepe placing 5th. The boy’s team placed 17th out of 23, and the girls’ team placed 7th out of 15. Quite a few runners made a personal record too. Ryker Obermeier, Will Tepe, Calvin Maynard, Clay Maynard, Oliver Gaubatz, Gabe Charles, Sidney Charles, and Sophia Wood all made a PR. Good job Rockets and keep up the good work!
