Last week, the cross-country team ran in Chester and Wesclin. In Chester, the boys’ team placed fourth out of seven, while the girls’ team placed second to Pickneyville. Again, the team placed well in Wesclin, with the girls in second place and the boys in fifth out of eleven teams. At Chester, numerous runners made personal records, and they placed in the top ten. Out of the girls’ team, Kaylee Wolf placed tenth, Katelyn Gogolek placed sixth, Sidney Charles placed fifth, and Caroline Tepe placed second. In the boys’ race, Ryker Obermeier placed ninth. Overall, the Chester meet was hilly, but there was beautiful weather. The Rockets are still going strong in Wesclin. Several runners on the team also made personal records and a season record. Additionally, Caroline Tepe won first place, with a time of 18:39. Ryker Obermeier placed in the top ten in sixth place. Like Chester, the weather was sunny at the Wesclin meet.
