The Okawville Grade School and Jr./Sr. High School celebrated Red Ribbon Week from October 21-25. Being drug-free is extremely important, so we celebrate Red Ribbon Week. To celebrate, Okawville had dress-up days and a guest speaker. On Monday, the students dressed up as their favorite movie characters. We also had a guest speaker, Frank Coleston, who told his life story by describing how substance abuse affected his life and his road to recovery. On Tuesday, students dressed like a superhero. Then, on Wednesday, we had a wacky tacky day, where people dressed in crazy mismatched, backward, or inside-out clothes. On Thursday, it was red out day and students wore as much red as possible. Lastly, on Friday students were decked out in their orange and blue for Spirit Day. Students throughout Okawville enjoyed dressing up while learning to lead drug-free lives.
