The JV volleyball team took first place in the Wood River JV Round Robin Tournament for small schools on Saturday, October 19. There was a total of eight teams in the tournament. There were two pools. Okawville and Valmeyer, Bunker Hill, and Sandoval were in Pool A. Okawville’s first pool play game was against Sandoval. They defeated Sandoval in two sets. They won the first set 25-16 and the second set 25-11. Next, they played Valmeyer for their second pool play game. Okawville won against Valmeyer in two sets. They won the first set 25-20 and the second set 25-17. Okawville’s last pool play game was versus Bunker Hill. Okawville beat them in two sets. They won the first set 25-22 and the second set 25-15. Their success in pool play secured them the number one seed for their pool meaning they would play the number one seed in the other pool for the championship. They ended up facing Marissa for the championship game. Okawville won versus Marissa in two sets naming them the champions for small schools. They won the first set 25-17 and the second set 25-12. Okawville went 4-0 this tournament; overall, their record this season is 17-13. They did a great job and good luck to them as they wrap up the season!
