On November 13, Okawville had an assembly with De’Marco Fomby. He came to talk about how you can let your passion be your power. He explained that if you have something you are interested in enough for it to be your passion, you should use it to make other people happy and let them learn from it. He used his guitar and sang songs to share his passion and use it to explain how you can find yours. A passion can be discovered by imagining what would improve the worst day.
According to his website, https://www.dmarcospeaks.com/, De’Marco has been inspiring young people all around the country to help them be the best they can be. Outside of motivational speaking, he also works with prevention strategies with topics including alcohol, tobacco, other drug prevention, Youth Highway Safety, Juvenile Justice, bullying, and leadership development. He believes that the youth of today can change the world around them, with strong traits of compassion, integrity, humility, honesty, and an uncompromising spirit.
Besides working to inspire young people and playing the latest music, he also has some hobbies. Some of these include watching Disney classics and 90s cartoons, fishing, PlayStation, playing golf, and cooking. However, the most important thing to him is his 7-year-old daughter, Lailah. She is his greatest passion and motivation.
