The JH Pep band played for their first game on November 5. It was a JH girls’ basketball game for the Okawville Round Robin tournament. Two days later, on November 7, they played a JH boys’ game.
JH Pep Band is for 5th-8th graders who participate in band. They play at four basketball games, two JH boys’ games, and two JH girls’ games. Although they don’t play many games, the band does enjoy playing as a group. They play songs like Eye of the Tiger, Rocky Top, Wild Thing, and more! The band director, Reed Recker, said why he likes directing the JH Pep Band. He says, “I really enjoy JH Pep Band because of the electric atmosphere. The 5th-8th grade band plays with a ton of energy and we have a great time! I also love the support the students get from the parents and coaches when we play. It is not high-stress. We are just there to have some fun.” JH Pep Band’s next game they will play for is on November 21. It will be a JH boys’ game at Okawville!
