On Sunday, December 8, thirty students in the Spanish Club traveled to the St. Louis Zoo to see the Wild Lights with the Spanish Club sponsor, Señora Holm. The bus left the school at 4 p.m. and arrived back at the school that night at 8:30 p.m. They have gone to see the lights for around 15 years now. During their visit to the Zoo, students walked around in groups and visited different sections of the lights. Students could also stop to take pictures, see the penguins in their exhibit, get food at the Cafe, drink at Starbucks, and ride the carousel. When Señora asked how she thought the night went she said, “The Zoo Lights displays get better every year and this year was no exception. It was not crowded, the weather was pretty good with a little rain, and the students enjoyed themselves. Some of the light displays are very impressive with my favorite being the lighted tree that changes with the music.” The Spanish Club was thankful Señora allowed them to see the lights with their classmates and friends as a fun way to get into the Christmas spirit.
