On Saturday, January 11, the Lady Rockets played in the PAWS Shootout. They had originally planned to take on the Vienna Eagles but due to the weather, they were unable to make the trip to Central. So instead, the St. Anthony Bulldogs filled their spot. The Bulldogs are ranked #1 in the 1a AP Poll while the Lady Rockets are ranked behind them at #4. This was a big game for the Lady Rockets because they could potentially meet up with the Bulldogs again in the post-season. The Lady Rockets came ready to play and led by 3 after the first half. Okawville came out of the locker room fired up and pressed St. Anthony and doing so allowed them to outscore the Bulldogs 14-2. The Lady Rockets led the Bulldogs in scoring for the rest of the game ending with a score of 46-34. Two Lady Rockets ended in double digits for scoring. Brynn Rhodes had 17 and Kenley Hackstadt with 11. Following, Jenna Hackstadt had 8, Addison Hasheider with 7, and rounding out the scoring, Caroline Tepe had 3. After each game, Jansen Cheverlot hands out a plaque to the Player of the Game. This game, it was awarded to Brynn Rhodes. Congratulations to the Lady Rockets on this big win and good luck on the rest of the season.
