This past weekend, the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant took place. One of our students, Isabella Welch, won “Best Communication Skills.” The competition, from January 16th to January 19th, had 73 contestants. They were divided into four groups to get to know each other. Bella said, “All 73 of us were so different from one another, so I got to learn so much while having the best weekend ever!”
On the first day, the 73 girls had a chance to practice for all the events the pageant would offer. The next day, they all got interviewed by the judges. The contest finally started on Saturday, and the finals occurred on Sunday. When asked how she felt about winning the award, Bella said, “I was so excited about this award because it meant that I achieved something by just being myself.” We are all very proud of this accomplishment for her.
