Miss Kaylsta Huge is one of the new student teachers at Okawville Grade School. Miss Huge is attending McKendree University and is scheduled to graduate this May with her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. She attended Nashville Community High School. Although she has recently become a student teacher at the grade school, she is not new to Okawville and has been working as a paraprofessional and cheer coach for some time now. She has been the cheer coach for 2 years and is extremely proud of how willing the cheerleaders are to better their team and fellow teammates, and the amount of work and effort they put forth.
Miss Huge’s favorite thing about Okawville is how welcoming and helpful everyone has been. This includes Mrs. Green, who welcomed her into her second-grade classroom and was a great mentor to her and her students. Miss Huge stated, “She does an amazing job and is such a fantastic teacher.” Miss Huge prefers teaching second-grade students, however, she is open to teaching other grade levels too. Our school community is excited to have Miss Huge working with our students and staff!
