The Okawville Rockets ended their regular season with a record of 15-15. They were ranked 2nd in the Cobden Sub-Sectional and hosted the first round for regionals on Monday, February 24th, where they played Elverado. The boys knew that one bad quarter would mean their season would be over, and they took that and ran with it. The final score against Elverado was 63-39. Aidan Anderson scored 25 points, Landen Shubert scored 15, and Ryker Obermeier had 13 points. After that win, they traveled to Christopher, where they played Sesser-Valier on Wednesday at 6 pm. The boys knew it would be a tough game, but they were ready for everything. After a few bumpy quarters, the 4th quarter came down to it all, and the Rockets knew what to do. They beat Sesser-Valier 55-48. Braylen Turner finished the game with 20 points, Aidan Anderson had 17 points, and Ryker Obermeier had 11 points. The win against Sesser put the Okawville Rockets in the regional championship, and they faced Christopher on Friday, February 28th, to see who would claim the regional championship plaque. The Christopher game was back and forth the whole time, but the Rockets continued to push, and after the fourth quarter, the Rockets had won their first regional since 2019 with a score of 43-35. Aidan Anderson scored 21 points, Landen Shubert had 9, and Braylen Turner scored 8. The Okawville Rockets play on Tuesday, March 4th, at Cobden at 6 pm against Goreville.
