Once a semester, the OHS Student Council puts on a blood drive at the high school. The American Red Cross Association is always in need of blood, and having a blood drive at the school is a good way to get high schoolers and community members to donate blood. The members of the student council work the blood drive and have the option to donate also. Each blood drive in the Okawville community usually involves donations of anywhere between 20 and 50 pints of blood. In return, the American Red Cross Association donates scholarship money based on how much blood we donate. This money will go to a senior at Okawville High School who plans to go into the healthcare field. Come out to support OHS and the American Red Cross Association!
