April 14-16, the Okawville Rockets played a long week, but it was shortened due to games being moved around and cancelled. The original schedule said that the Lady Rockets would play Monday against Woodlawn, Tuesday against Red Bud, Wednesday against Odin, and Thursday against Red Bud again. The new schedule is Monday against Woodlawn, Tuesday against Red Bud, Wednesday against Red Bud again, and the Odin game is cancelled. On Monday, when the Lady Rockets took on the Woodlawn Cardinals, both teams wanted another victory. But the Lady Rockets came out hot and put the score to 16-1, ending the game early. The next day, they played Red Bud. Each team knows that this game would determine who the conference champs would be. Red Bud started hot, making the score 6-0 heading into the top of the 7th inning. The Lady Rockets responded with fire, putting up 6 more runs to tie up the game. With the game on the line, the Lady Rockets played locked-down defense, and the game was headed into extra innings. In the top of the 8th inning, the Lady Rockets didn’t respond, and they were back in the field. Unfortunately, Red Bud responded with a walk-off to win the game 7-6. But the Lady Rockets had a chance at revenge the next day. The next game, unfortunately, didn’t go the Lady Rockets’ way, and they lost 8-3. Overall, the Lady Rockets had a long and tough week, but despite that, they played hard and put up many fights.
