On Monday, April 28, the Lady Rockets played the Sparta Bulldogs. The game was a battle with both teams going back and forth. The Lady Rockets went scoreless in the first inning. Sparta put up 4 runs against Okawville’s pitcher, Kaylyn Cragen, in the first inning to take the lead. The Lady Rockets put up their first runs with a home run by Jilien Hare and an RBI from Lily Helbig. This put the score at 4-2 heading into the top of the 3rd. The Lady Rockets put up one more run in the third inning. Down by one heading into the bottom of the 6th, the Sparta Bulldogs put up two more. The Lady Rockets had no response and were defeated 6-3 in the 7th inning.
