The High School Cross Country team had a meet on Wednesday, September 3, at Murphysboro. This was their only meet for this week. There were a total of 25 teams, including Okawville. The boys’ race started first. Ryker Obermeier (12th grade), placed 19th with a time of 17:55.4. Gabe Charles (11th grade), placed 34th with a time of 18:59.7. Ransom Lugge (9th grade), placed 51st with a time of 20:01.3. Zander Hasheider (12th grade), placed 61st with a time of 20:30.0. Kaden Buehler (11th grade), placed 77th with a time of 21:16.7. Brenden Heizer (9th grade), placed 98th with a time of 23:42.1. There were no other Okawville runners listed for the boys’ race. Following the boys’ race was the girls’ race. Caroline Tepe (12th), placed 1st with a time of 18:38.2. Kaylee Wolf (10th), placed 22nd with a time of 22:40.4. Katelyn Gogolek (10th), placed 27th with a time of 23:19.1. Sophia Wood (11th) placed 46th with a time of 25:10.1. Madisyn Rennegarbe (12th), placed 66th with a time of 27:42.3 Emma Hokeness (10th), placed 80th with a time of 29:51.5. There were no other Okawville runners listed for the girls’ race. The girls’ team placed 3rd overall, and the boys’ team placed 7th overall for this meet. Zander Hasheider also got a season record for this meet. The High School Cross Country team’s next meet will be on September 9, at Marissa.
