The Okawville Wheat Festival is from Friday, September 12, through Sunday, September 14 at the Okawville Community Park. On Friday, from 3-8 pm, entries will be accepted in the exhibit hall. Concession stands will open at 5 pm Friday evening. The Okawville Yearbook will sell pies at their pie stand located by the food stand and the 4-H ice cream stand. At 6 pm, the rides with wrist bands and single ride tickets will be open. The bags tournament and pageant will start at 7 pm on Friday. From 7:30 pm-11:30 pm the outdoor stage entertainment will be music by Cheers Band.
On Saturday, September 13, entries will be accepted in the exhibit hall from 7 am to 8:30 am. Registration for the car show will be at 10 am in the high school parking lot. The kiddie parade will start at 11 am, and the entries will meet at Streuter’s at 10:30 am. The concession stand will open at 11 am on Saturday. At noon, the classic car show will commence. Young farmers’ activities will occur at 1 pm. The local talent show starts at 2 pm at the outdoor stage. Also at 2 pm, the antique tractor pull begins at the Immanuel School Lot. On Saturday, the exhibit hall will open at 2 pm. Rides with wrist bands or single tickets will be open from 2 pm-5 pm. The Venedy Band will play music from 4 pm-6 pm Saturday evening. BINGO will begin at 5 pm and last until 10 pm in the metal pavilion. Rides with wrist bands or single tickets will open again from 6 pm-10 pm. The outdoor stage entertainment for the night will be Boulderdash from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm.
The schedule of events for Sunday, September 14, starts at 11 am when the concession stands open. The large float parade with marching bands begins at 2 pm. Rides with wrist bands or single tickets will be open from 3:30 pm-7 pm. The Okawville High School Band will be performing at 4 pm on Sunday. BINGO will take place in the metal pavilion from 4 pm-9 pm. Finally, the outdoor stage entertainment for the last day will be Roaming Home from 5 pm-8:30 pm.
