There are many fundraisers done at Wheat Fest. One fundraiser done this year was the freshman class’s sand art bottle stand for kids to make while at the fair. The kids got to pick out a fun-shaped plastic bottle to fill up with sand. There were pumpkins, butterflies, suns, and many more. There was also a variety of different-colored sands the kids could choose from. This fundraiser was a great way for the Class of 2029 to get a head start on raising money for prom and other big things coming up in the next few years.
This fundraiser was very successful, earning just over $1,000. The class of 2029 plans to continue this fundraiser, selling more sand art bottles at the Okawville Chili Cookoff and at the next Wheat Fest. So if you are attending either of these events, make sure to bring your kids and keep an eye out for their stand!
