The high school cross country team had a meet on Saturday, October 11, at Benton. There were a total of seventeen teams, including Okawville, at this meet. First was the girls’ varsity race. Caroline Tepe (12th grade) placed 1st with a time of 17:48.62. Kaylee Wolf (10th grade) placed 15th with a time of 20:01.38. Katelyn Gogolek (10th grade) placed 20th with a time of 20:11.22. Sophia Wood (11th grade) placed 41st with a time of 23:13.52. Emma Hokeness (10th grade) placed 42nd with a time of 24:13.92. Madisyn Rennegarbe (12th grade) placed 47th with a time of 24:38.96. Lucy Pille (9th grade) placed 62nd with a time of 29:49.63. All of these runners either got personal records or seasonal records for this race. Next was the boys’ varsity race. Ryker Obermeier (12th grade) placed 14th with a time of 16:15.28. Gabe Charles (11th grade), placed 33rd with a time of 17:18.20. Ransom Lugge (9th grade), placed 34th with a time of 17:19.90. Kaden Buehler (11th grade), placed 44th with a time of 17:57.62. Clay Maynard (11th grade) placed 54th with a time of 18:27.70. Zander Hasheider (12th grade) placed 76th with a time of 19:52.62. Brenden Heizer (9th grade) placed 81st with a time of 20:16.47. Skylar Wilfong and Brett Henderson ran in the open races. Skylar Wilfong (9th grade) placed 4th with a time of 29:17.61. Brett Henderson (9th grade) placed 14th with a time of 24:57.92. Overall, every Okawville runner at this meet got personal records/seasonal records. Great job, Rockets! The girls’ team placed 3rd overall for this meet. The boys’ team placed 4th overall for this meet. The high school cross country team’s next meet will be the Conference meet on October 18.
