On October 8, eight FFA members traveled to Carbondale to compete in the Food Science event. The varsity team consisted of Abby Brennfleck, Lily Helbig, Kate Borrenpohl, and Izzy Howard. The JV team consisted of Khloe Geppert, Emma Muniz, Lizzy Birchard, and Bella Shubert. Each team developed a frozen pizza, took a food test, smelled aromas, took a math test, responded to customer complaint emails, and analyzed food samples. The JV team placed 1st in their division. Bella Shubert placed 1st individually, and Emma Muniz placed 6th individually. The varsity team placed 5th in Section 22.
