On October 3rd, Mr. Berg took a group of FFA students to the horse evaluation at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds, hosted by SIUC. Eleven students attended, and there were six rings: the first one being Stock type Halter, Ring 2 Confirmation hunter, Ring 3 Stock type Halter, Ring 4 ranch pleasure, Ring 5 Hunter under saddle, and Ring 6 Western pleasure. Freshman Dameon Lam got the highest score from Okawville, 296/300. Overall, Okawville placed 9th in Section 22. This event opened doors to various careers, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of what they entail. You can see photos from this event at the Okawville FFA Chapters Facebook post.
