The High School Cross Country team had their conference meet on Saturday, October 18, at East Alton Wood River. A total of 18 teams participated in this meet. First was the girls’ race. Caroline Tepe (12th grade), placed 1st with a time of 17:47:50. Kaylee Wolf (10th grade), placed 20th with a time of 20:27.00. Katelyn Gogolek (10th grade), placed 22nd with a time of 20:30.00. Sophia Wood (11th grade), placed 43rd with a time of 22:36.80. Madisyn Rennegarbe (12th grade), placed 56th with a time of 24:54.80. Emma Hokeness (10th grade), placed 65th with a time of 25:53.40. Next was the boys’ race. Ryker Obermeier (12th grade), placed 13th with a time of 16:43.50. Gabe Charles (11th grade), placed 29th with a time of 17:39.90. Ransom Lugge (9th grade), placed 31st with a time of 17:45.10. Kaden Buehler (11th grade), placed 36th with a time of 17:57.60. Clay Maynard (11th grade), placed 67th with a time of 19:28.80. Zander Hasheider (12th grade), placed 73rd with a time of 20:29.40. Brenden Heizer (9th grade), placed 74th with a time of 20:36.60. The girls’ team placed 5th overall and 2nd in Confernce for this meet. The boys’ team also placed 5th overall and 2nd in Conference for this meet.
Okawville also had its regional meet on Saturday, October 25th, at the Randolph County State Recreation Area. A total of 19 teams participated in this meet. First was the girls’ race. Sophia Wood placed 37th with a time of 24:09.26. Emma Hokeness placed 48th with a time of 25:27.48. Taylor Statler placed 49th with a time of 25:38.69. Madisyn Rennegarbe placed 51st with a time of 25:55.35. Next was the boys’ race. Ryker Obermeier placed 10th with a time of 17:29.90. Ransom Lugge placed 11th with a time of 17:30.28. Gabe Charles placed 16th with a time of 18:02.77. Kaden Buehler placed 36th with a time of 19:04.80. Clay Maynard placed 43rd with a time of 19:24.87. Zander Hasheider placed 56th with a time of 20:18.13. Brenden Heizer placed 71st with a time of 21:52.30. All Okawville runners qualified for sectionals. Sectionals will be held on Saturday, November 1, at Wesclin High School. The girls’ team placed second overall, and the boys’ team placed third overall at the regional meet. Congrats, Rockets!
