The Lady Rockets started the season off with the Nashville invitational tournament.  The starters for the Varsity team are Megan Schleifer, Delaney Toensing, Megan Rennegarbe, Briley Rhodes, and players Raegan Luechtefeld and Chloe Tepe alternating every game. 

In the first game of the tournament, the Lady Rockets faced Wesclin. The girls had a slow start in this game but were able to come out with the victory 31-26. The girls did not have a very good game, shooting 18% from the field.  In the next game of the tournament, they faced Mascoutah, a very strong team. The ladies played very well as a team and got a very comfortable lead and were able to have a running clock in the fourth quarter. The score of this game was 65-42.

Unfortunately in the next game of the tourney, the ladies lost to their rivals the Nashville Hornettes.  It wasn’t a pretty game for either team. The final score of the game was 34-22. This put the Lady Rockets in the position to play for the third-place trophy. The game started out well for the girls and they were ahead at the half. Then things went downhill, and they lost the lead and never gained it back. The final score was 48-37.  Briley Rhodes was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Then the Lady Rockets had their first home game this Monday against Christ our Rock, a team the ladies wanted to beat badly.  From the start, the Lady Rockets were playing well and would never look back after taking the lead early. The final score was 46-37 in this victory.
