After the disappointment of the Drama Club’s first ever musical “Mamma Mia” never being shown, the Drama Club planned to pick it right back up. They are planning on doing yet another musical!

The first round of show selections began on September 1, and included 5 new and very different musicals. They included: The Addams Family, High School Musical, Back to the ’80s, Bye Bye Birdie, and Annie. After a few days of voting, the results came in and they narrowed it down to 3. The last three were: High School Musical, Back to the ’80s, and Annie. It was a close run but in the end, Back to the ’80s pulled through!

The OHS drama club will be producing the musical Back to the ’80s this June! This is what director, Amy Welch, had to say. “This year our hope for the musical will be spring/summer, as disappointing as last year was we are hoping not to repeat it! So for now we will be patient and wait, it may look different with wearing masks, but as long as we can get something going for the drama program I will be happy!”
