The Okawville Rockets Cross Country team ran at the Mascoutah Kickoff Meet on August 28, 2021. The races went from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. The weather was 86 degrees and sunny with a wind of 7 mph.

The girls’ team got 9th out of 13 teams, and the boys’ team got 13th place out of 18 teams.

For the girls’ varsity, Chloe Tepe got 28th place with a time of 22:46, Lydia Luechtefeld got 36th place with a time of 23:53, Cindy Snyder got 54th with a time of 25:46, Adysen Harre got 58th with a time of 26:07, Sidney Charles got 64th with a time of 26:30, Sarah Cook got 65th with a time of 26:31, and Megan Rennegarbe got 83rd with a time of 27:41. There were a total of 105 girls’ varsity runners.

For the boys’ varsity, Grant Schleifer got 14th with a time of 17:57, Hayden Shubert got 65th with a time of 20:45, Dominic Perry got 66th with a time of 21:00, Joe Jansen got 108th with a time of 23:26, Evan Perry got 109th with a time of 24:12, Jared Juenger got 116th with a time of 26:17, Matt Roesener got 118th with a time of 27:40. There were a total of 121 boys’ varsity runners.

The next meet will be held in Murphysboro on Wednesday, September 1st.
