Jr Rockets Season Comes to an End

The Jr. Rockets started regionals the week of Sept. 21. On Wednesday, they took on Lebanon, and in the second inning, the Rockets scored 4 runs. The next inning, they scored another run. Then, Lebanon came back and scored 7 runs in the fifth inning. The Jr. Rockets then rallied together and put 9 more runs on the board. Lebanon put 2 more runs on the board, while the Jr. Rockets put 1 more up there. They ended the game, winning 15-9.

On Thursday, the Jr. Rockets took on the Nashville Hornets in the second round of regionals. In the first inning, the Hornets scored 4 against Okawville. In the 3rd inning, the Hornets put 6 more on the board. In the 4th and 5th innings, the Hornets scored 1. The Jr.Rockets lost to Nashville 0-12.

I interviewed an 8th grader, Landen Shubert. I asked him how he thought they did in regionals. He answered with ā€œIā€™m surprised, because I didn’t think we would make it this far.ā€

The Rockets ended the season with a record of 1-16.
