The wait is officially over – the Mr. Okawville pageant is officially back and better than ever! This year’s event will serve as a fundraiser for the OHS Drama Club. “We are very excited to bring back this very fun pageant to OHS; it brought a lot of fun to everyone who was involved and watched in the past,” said the OHS Drama Club Director, Amy Welch.

It has been eight years since the school has hosted this pageant. Previous winners include Garrett Krohne (2013) , Jeremy Weeke (2012) ,Tyler Brammier (2010) , Nick Frederking (2009), Jordan Kuhlengel (2008), Daniel Schuette and Chris Stine (2007), Brett Kolweier (2006), Cole Rabenort (2005), Eric Shubert (2004), and Todd Shubert (2003).

Those competing for this year’s title are Ashton McGranahan, Levi Traub, Dylan Clark, Harrison Borrenpohl, and Evan Miller. These five contestants were also given the opportunity to pick a freshman boy to be their “Little Mr. Okawville.” The judges will be scoring the contestants based on formal wear, athletic wear, talent, and even a pop question. Due to no open gym times this fall the pageant has been moved to after Christmas. The new date is still undecided.
