Illinois State Scholars

Briley Rhodes, Co-Editor-in-Chief

This year four state scholars were selected from Okawville High School. The four seniors selected this year were Ace Bruck, Gracie Nelson, Jacob Segelhorst, and Zoe Todd. To be selected as a State Scholar is a very honorable achievement. There are certain requirements that must be met to be selected such as being in the top one-half of your class, scoring at or above the 95th percentile on the SAT, and you must be a senior.

These Seniors have worked very hard over the past few years and are grateful for being selected. Ace Bruck is the son of Eric and Brandi Bruck. Ace plans to major in Aerospace engineering and has not chosen a college. Gracie Nelson is the daughter of Cortney Nelson and Brian Nelson. Gracie plans to attend Murray State University or the University of Kentucky to major in nursing. Jacob Segelhorst is the son of Lester Segelhorst and Kristen Segelhorst. Jacob plans to major in computer science and has not chosen a college. Zoe Todd is the daughter of Paul and Heather Todd. Zoe plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia and her major is undecided.
