On Saturday, October 30, the Okawville Junior High and High School Band competed together in the Class B division of the Pinckneyville Mardi Gras Parade. Each float or band was recommended to go all out with the decorations and lights for the Parade. So, the Okawville High School Band had lights everywhere; on their hats, instruments, and even percussion instruments. 

This was the first competition the band has been in for many years. They were judged on their Music Execution, General Effect & Showmanship, and Marching and Maneuvering. They won 1st Place over Trico and were very excited to have taken part in the parade.  Mr. Recker was very proud of their performance and happy to see their hard work paying off.
