On Monday, November 8, the Jr. Lady Rockets played at Mascoutah. Both 7th and 8th-grade teams played that night.  The 7th grade Jr. Lady Rockets took the victory and won 38-10.  The 8th grade Jr. Lady Rockets also won with a score of 26-14.

The next night, the Jr. Lady Rockets played at Aviston. The 7th grade Jr. Lady Rockets won 41-21.  The 8th grade game was challenging for the Jr. Lady Rockets.  The final score was 48-14 with the Aviston Eagles with the win.  The Jr. Lady Rockets fought hard but couldn’t get past Aviston’s strong defense.

I interviewed 8th grader Caroline Tepe.  I asked her if she was excited for the rest of the season.  Tepe replied, “I am very excited for this season, we’ve been doing very well so far.”  Caroline also said, “I strongly believe we will go far this year. Our team has a lot of potential.”  I also asked her what does she love most about the team?  Tepe answered, “I love the way we all come together and put our differences aside to play the sport we love.”  What do you love most about basketball?  Caroline said, “I love all the memories we make playing together.”  

On Monday, November 15, 2021, the Jr. Lady Rockets took on the Bartelso Lady Braves at Bartelso.  The Jr. Lady Rockets 7th grade team was up by about 10 points at the beginning of the 4th quarter.  The Braves came back and almost won, but the Okawville Jr.Lady Rockets held their own and won 29-26.  The Okawville Jr. Lady Rockets 8th grade team lost to the Lady Braves 37-34.  The Braves continued to make shot after shot to win the game.  

On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 6 p.m. the Okawville Jr. Lady Rockets played the Breese Lady Bobcats.  The Jr. Lady Rockets got a lead from the start and were up 23-4 at halftime.  They continued to score and won the game 35-17.  The Jr. Lady Rockets 8th grade team was only down by 6 points at half time with the score being 18-12.  The game was close in the 3rd quarter, but the Bobcats came out scoring in the last quarter and took the victory with the final score being 31-23.  

On Thursday, November 1, 2021, at 6 p.m. the Jr. Lady Rockets competed against the Carlyle Lady Indians at home.  The 7th grade Jr. Lady Rockets came out scoring in the first half with the score being 21-6 at halftime with the Rockets up.  The Jr. Lady Rockets continued to score and won the game 33-18.  The 8th grade Jr. Lady Rockets were close at halftime with the score being 13-12 and the Lady Indians were winning by one.  In the second half, the Rockets took the lead and won the game 26-17.  

The Jr. Lady Rockets 7th grade record is now 8-0.  The Jr. Lady Rockets 8th grade record is now 6-5.  Good luck to the Jr.Lady Rockets as they continue on with their season.
