On Sunday, November 14, Okawville High School held its annual fall sports award ceremony. This night allows the school’s athletes to showcase their hard work and accomplishments within the season. In addition to these recognitions, graduating seniors were honored upon officially ending their sports career as an Okawville Rocket. Many parents were also in attendance to help support and celebrate their child’s victories. 

All of the following awards were selected by coaches and based on the season’s stats. For Boy’s Golf, award winners include Levi Traub, Low Score Average, Parker Wiese, Newcomer Award, and Dylan Clark, Most Improved. On the Girl’s Golf roster, three girls were awarded. Those recognized were: Paige Riechman, Most Improved, Avery Killion, Sportsmanship, and Taylor Hettenhausen, Low Average. 

Moving athletics, the Rocket and Lady Rocket Cross Country teams had very successful seasons. Listed are the athletes who earned individual awards: Kylie Beuhler Most Improved, Chloe Tepe, Most Valuable Runner, Jared Juenger, Most Improved, and Grant Schleifer, Most Valuable Runner.

The final sport to conclude its fall season was Lady Rocket volleyball. Varsity award winners include Zoe Todd, Most Assists, Megan Rennegarbe, Most Aces and Digs, Sydney Tebbe, Most Kills and Blocks, Jordyn Heckert, Most Improved, and lastly Elli Kremmer, Sportsmanship. The JV and Freshman awards include Kylie Going and Hailey Kolweier, Hustle, Ellie Frederking and Camryn Weidwilt, Most Improved, as well as Hannah Miller and Madison Gogolek, Sportsmanship. 

Okawville High School also had several athletes earn All-Conference honors this fall. These athletes include Grant Schleifer, Dominic Perry, Cindy Snyder, Chloe Tepe, Sarah Cook, and Lydia Luechtefeld for Cross Country. Additionally, Sydney Tebbe and Jordyn Heckert were recognized for Volleyball. Macie Staley, Avery Killion, Taylor Hettenhausen, Levi Traub, and Dillion Teter were awarded for Golf.

Also honored at the awards ceremony were five seniors for completing their sports career at Okawville High School.  These seniors include Avery Killion (Golf), Elli Kremmer (Volleyball), Ashton McGranahan (Golf), Erin Nilles (Golf), and Zoe Todd (Volleyball).  They were recognized for their career and accomplishments here at OHS with a senior plaque.
