On Friday, November 12, the OHS Spanish IV Class went on a field trip. They left at 10:30 am from the school. They first stopped at Nashville El Indio for lunch and then they were on their way to Mt. Vernon Township High School.

The high school was hosting a Cedarhurst Music and Performance Series, Surabhi Ensemble. The performance started at 1:00 pm and middle schools and high schools were welcomed. The idea of the Surabhi Ensemble was to demonstrate the connections between cultures and to teach a positive message of togetherness in creating, performing, and demonstrating new works of music and dance. At the performance dancers performed and discussed traditional Indian pieces, Arabic influenced pieces, Spanish folk song and dance, global percussion instruments, flamenco dance, and original fusion pieces. In the end, they allowed time for questions. The students were entertained and interested during the whole performance.
