Jr. Rockets Keep Battling

The Jr. High Boys Basketball team has two losses and a win this week. On November 30, the Jr. High Boys basketball team played the Albers/Damiansville Cougars. The 7th grade boys lost 42-20. Blake Carrico, Clay Maynard, Braylen Turner, and Teren Schwankhaus led the game with four points each. Kaden Buehler and Zayden Cepeda both had two points. The 8th grade put up a good fight and was tied at halftime but couldn’t keep the momentum going and lost 39-33. Landen Shubert led with the scoring at eighteen. Braylen Turner had fourteen points and Teren Schwankhaus had two points.

On December 2nd, the boys went to Breese to play All Saints Academy. The 7th grade game was a good battle, but they couldn’t pull it off and lost 25-20. Braylen Turner led with eight points followed by Kaden Buehler with six points and  Zayden Cepeda and Terence Schwankhaus with two points. The 8th grade game was a good battle and they were tied at halftime 16-16. Sadly, All Saints pushed through and won 41-34. Shubert had nineteen points, Turner had eleven points and Carrico and Schwankhaus each had two.

The Okawville Jr. High boys basketball team took the win against Oakdale on December 6th.  The 7th grade defeated Oakdale 44-3 and the whole team scored. Braylen Turner with fourteen points, Aiden Foley with ten, Schwankhaus and Galliano had four points. Gabe Charles, Blake Carrico, Clay Maynard, Jared Bollmeier, Kaden Buehler, and Zayden Cepeda scored two points each. The 8th grade also had a big win 57-11. They started off strong and kept the momentum going. Shubert led with twenty-two points. Followed up by Turner with thirteen points and Buehler had six. Marler and Foley had four points apiece. Bollmeier and Carrico had three points, followed up by Galliano with two points. Good luck to the Jr. High boys basketball team!
