Jr. Lady Rockets Earn 3rd Place at State Tournamnet

The Okawville Jr. Lady Rockets basketball team came off of their 4th consecutive regional championship with a lot of pressure. They have put up fight after fight to get to where they are. In the first round of state, they played Summersville. 7th grader Kenley Hackstadt stated, “We played hard and got what we deserved.” They won with a score of 43-22. In the second round of state, they played New Hope. New Hope came out ready to play and went hard from the beginning. The Lady Rockets had a devastating loss of 26-25. New Hope would go on to get 2nd place, losing to a very skilled St Rose team. For 3rd place, they played the Selmaville Rockets. The game was intense. There were a lot of different emotions going through the gym. The Junior Lady Rockets ended their season with a win. The final score was 35-18 awarding the Jr. Lady Rockets with the SIJHSAA Class S 3rd Place trophy. Overall, the Junior Lady Rockets had a great season. Their final record of the season was 20-10. Congratulations to the Jr. Lady Rockets for taking 3rd place!
