Jr. Lady Rockets Celebrate a Win on 8th Grade Night

KateLyn Borrenpohl, Junior High Editor

The Jr. High 8th grade volleyball team had their 8th-grade night on Tuesday, Mar 10, 2022. There are nine 8th graders, Emma Borgmann, daughter of Dennis and Bobbi Jo Christ, Kate Borrenpohl, daughter of Steven and Kelli Borrenpohl, Abby Brennfleck, daughter of John Brennfleck and Mary Shubert, Kayla Crouch, daughter of John and Robin Crouch, Jaelyn Going, daughter of Ben and Kimberly Going, Lily Helbig, the daughter of Blake and Michele Helbig, Carly Schmidt, the daughter of Nathan and Brittany Davis, Rylan Senior, the daughter of Keith and Casey Senior, and Caroline Tepe, the daughter of Eric and Jamie Tepe.

The 8th-grade volleyball team played All-Saints Academy, which they lost to earlier in the season. This time they brought hustle, aggressiveness, and a good attitude to the game. The Jr. Lady Rockets lost the 1st set 18-25, won the 2nd set 25-21, and then they won the game in the 3rd set 16-14.

I interviewed 8th grader Rylan Senior and asked her three questions. The first one was about what she thinks the team will do during the postseason? She responded, “I think we can make it past the first game but playing the number 1 seed next might be a little challenging.” Next, I asked her what she liked most about this season? She replied, “I liked how we are working as a team, but my favorite part is the celebration of us winning on 8th-grade night!” Finally, I asked her one last question, how did she think the team did overall this season. She answered, “I think that we played pretty well throughout the season. We played outstanding teams, but fought our hardest against all of them.”

Good luck and good job to the Jr. High Lady Netters.
